Changelog
January 30, 2023
Announced: August 8, 2022
January 30, 2023
Since October 7, 2022, we have been rolling out permanent data deletion for core entities that have been marked as deleted for more than 30 days. The effective date has been prolonged to January 30, 2023, as we are gradually rolling out this update to all affected entities, brought out below.
What is changing?
All 6 core entities - activities, deals, files, persons, products, and organizations - that are deleted via API will be permanently deleted from Pipedrive's system after 30 days.
After an entity has been permanently deleted, it won’t be possible to retrieve it via any API request.
The roll-out for the permanent deletion will start with Activities API and Deals API from October 7, 2022. It will be gradually applied to Files API, Persons API, Products API, and Organizations API endpoints by the end of January 2023.
To prepare our API for the change, we have deprecated and will soon stop supporting the include_deleted_files
query parameter of the following endpoints:
GET /files
GET /deals/{id}/files
GET /organizations/{id}/files
GET /persons/{id}/files
GET /products/{id}/files
When retrieving deals by the status
query parameter set to deleted
, the results will only include deals that have been deleted for less than 30 days. This affects the following GET
endpoints:
Additionally, when retrieving information about a deal’s product which has been deleted for more than 30 days, the response fields about the product will be null
for name
, product_id
, product_variation_id
, and the product
object.
This change applies to the GET /deals/{id}/products
endpoint.
Why is it changing?
The change aims to remove obsolete information from our system, ensuring data privacy and compliance for all of our API and app integration users.
We strongly advise you to prepare your API consumption logic to support permanently deleting the 6 entities.
Who will be affected?
Anyone who retrieves and/or modifies deleted activities, deals, files, persons, products, and organizations.
